About Commercial

Our history in commercial printing and binding began in 1973 when Lifetouch National School Studios purchased United Publications, a Kansas City company. Thus after 37 years in photography, the “school yearbooks” product line was added as a complement to the school portrait business. Over the next 20 years Lifetouch saw accelerated growth in this new market, emerging from a small yearbook operation to becoming a large scale nationwide yearbook producer having accounts with nearly 9,000 schools. Today Lifetouch school accounts have surpassed 21,000.

With our success and growth in school yearbooks came the need to increase manufacturing capacity and enhance production capabilities. This lead to the construction in 1993 of our facility in Kansas City, Missouri, and the expansion in 1994 to our second facility in Loves Park, Illinois. Additionally Lifetouch saw an increasing demand for intra-company commercial projects in support of our yearbook marketing campaigns. Experience gained fueled opportunities to extend commercial products and services to outside customers as well. By 1995 a dedicated Commercial staff was in place to focus on satisfying the growing requests for commercial projects, having established a solid base of both internal and external customers. Today our Lifetouch Commercial Team  is strategically placed in both manufacturing plants to handle year-round coordination of all commercial projects from estimating to delivery.
